The wait is finally over, LocoL Watts finally opened its doors on Martin Luther King day from beloved restaurant innovators Roy Choi and Daniel Patterson. Their mission with Locol Watts is to bring a healthier choice of “fast food” in lower income areas. located in Watts, on 1950 East 103rd Street, 90002 California, the restaurant brought out a massive crowd on Monday, January 18th to try out some of their affordable goodies. The first 100 people who showed up even received a fun t-shirt that reads “LocoL”, a collaboration they created with Undefeated. Roy Choi and Daniel Patterson want to revolutionize the food world and why shouldn’t they?
Roy Choi has already left his mark on our streets with “Kogi”, a Korean taco truck that is a must have if you are planning on visiting Los Angeles. Joining him is Daniel Patterson, an award-winning Chef from San Fransisco who is “considered a leading proponent of California cuisine”. Mayor Eric Garcetti, Lena Dunham and Tyrese Gibson also stopped by to support this new concept. We are hoping that LocoL Watts will lead by example for healthier ‘fast food’ choices. They are already in the process of opening a new location in San Fransisco Tenderloin.
