“Tony Hawk has been my hero since I was a kid, he might as well be wearing a cape and be fighting crime” said good friend Ben Harper at the release of the Third-Annual Boards + Bands Auction. The pair unveiled the legendary skateboards, during the press conference at the London West Hollywood on August 13th, that are being auctioned off to raise money for the Tony Hawk Foundation.

The conference started off with a short video that went over some of the significant changes that the Tony Hawk Foundation has been able to achieve with some of the funds. The Ernest McBride Skatepark was built in a low income neighborhood located in Long Beach to create a positive impact in the area. The skatepark changed the dynamic of the community, with a huge drop in gang violence.

To enable the Tony Hawk Foundation to continue building parks in low-income areas, they are auctioning off noteworthy skateboards, where 100% of the proceeds will go to this cause. The 2015 Boards + Bands has joined professional skateboarders with famed musicians for a one of a kind collaboration. Some of the skateboards that you can find belong to Tony Hawk, Ryan Sheckler and Paul Rodriguez and have been signed by artists such as Jay-Z, Ozzy Osbourne and Pearl Jam. Our favorites from the bunch include: Nyjah Huston + Metallica Fade to Black and Chris Cole + Elton John & Bernie Taupin Candle in The Wind (picture above).

The boards are being auctioned off HERE, which will officially end on August 26th, 2015.
