Remember the documentary No Camera’s Allowed of this kid that manages to sneak into music festivals including Coachella and on the way meets Mumford & Sons and becomes their official band photographer. Well, this kid is named James Marcus Haney, and his ability to gather footage in forbidden territory makes for some of the most stunning music photography of this day and age. The story behind how he gathered the pictures are as entertaining as the pictures themselves. On May 3rd, 2015, James Marcus Haney debuted his new exhibition Stolen Access Granted at The Andaz West Hollywood off of Sunset Blvd. the Andaz West Hollywood is know for their Rock’n’Roll photos throughout the hotel, so this was the perfect location to display James’s work. With Stolen Access Granted, the viewer gets a glimpse of the Rock’n’Roll lifestyle through James’s lens. He keeps his subjects, wether it is Mumford & Son, Cage The Elephant or Coldplay, as candid as they would be, which is what makes his work flourish above others. Stolen Access Granted will be on display for the public to view June through September as part of Andaz’s rotating art program, Art Seen @ Andaz, and will display stunning works depicting intimate, candid shots of musicians and fans.
