The early 70’s in LA was the place to be. Life was wild, sexy, free and rebellious. It was a time when rock ‘n’ roll was king and denim and leather was the essential uniform. It was an iconic and defining time for the country. Protests, political scandal, cultural shifts, space travel, war, Woodstock, Disney World, Nixon, disco, anti-establishment and transition, with an undercurrent of hope of a better future. It was one of the richest periods in American history and Los Angeles was the epitome of the good life. ‘Blue Jean baby, L.A. Lady, Robert Redford, The Doors, Joni Mitchell, Hotel California and of course Laurel Canyon. In a way it was the indulgent, escapist city where Hollywood and music intersected and art was created. Lucky Brand The Good Life FW 16 Collection brought all of these components, which was on display at a private viewing at Gracias Madre for onlookers to get a glimpse of this prosperous era from the City of Angels.
