Beloved Malibu brand Barefoot Dreams opened its premier brick-and-mortar flagship location at The Park at Cross Creek in Malibu, California. The store’s contemporary design complements the casual elegance of the brand. Barefoot Dreams plans to expand with a second, neighboring 1,500 square-foot space later this year. Adjoining the two retail locations is a courtyard offering a place to relax, play games, and enjoy views of the Malibu hills.
Paying homage to his hometown, Barefoot Dreams’ owner, Stan Cook, aims give back to the community that has given so much support to the brand over its 25 years in business. Says Cook, “We’ve built this store with intention. Barefoot Dreams first location is a cozy retreat, a place full of things that make people feel good. That’s what Barefoot Dreams does.”
Sherrie Rose designed the space and mobile furniture with versatility in mind. “We made sure all touches contributed to the indoor/outdoor flow so our customers feel the store is a breath of fresh air,” says Rose. “The store is of nature. From reclaimed wood beams, live indoor olive trees, inspirational river rocks, and a custom driftwood table.”
Within the 1,500 square-foot space, the brand will offer a wide array of signature Barefoot Dreams products including ultra-soft blankets and throws, robes, loungewear, apparel and accessories for women, men, kids, babies, pets and their licensed Disney collection. While visitors shop, kids can play and read books and pets can rest on a Barefoot Dreams bed outside. A new ‘word art’ CozyChic® blanket is available exclusively in the Malibu store. Additional luxury brands available in-store include Mayron’s Goods, Saya, Nature of Things and Alphapals.
