Rise9, the invite-only community for digitally focused talent and executives, returned to VidCon for its 2nd year to celebrate the industry and encourage more influencer collaborations. Presented by Diply, and in partnership with media empire Mashable, this year’s party entertained guests with its ‘Back to the Future’ theme at vintage car museum Highway 39 Events Center.
“#ThrowbackToTheFuture is a celebration of the earlyday YouTube community, and the future of our industry,” Cofounder and CEO of Rise9, Zack James, said. “VidCon is proof of how large our industry has become with its 30,000 attendees,” he added.
Emceed by wacky German, Flula Borg, the night featured performances by social media influencers Dave Days, The Flux Capacitors, Nicole Arbour, DJ Brody Jenner, and the ultimate throwback, Aaron Carter who paid homage to his old tunes and introduced songs from his new album including his current hit Fool’s Gold. Guests nibbled on burgers, fries, Ring Pops and sipped on cocktails curated by New Amsterdam Vodka. Live streaming service, Live.me, overtook the red carpet and inside the party to feed real-time moments with the industry’s leading faces for fans to share the experience. Talent included Smosh, Smosh Games, Logan Paul, Patrick Starrr, Manny Mua, Liza Koshy, Steve Kardynal, and Lauren Giraldo amongst others.
