The Annual Cancer Society Birthday Ball took place on June 6th at The Beverly Hilton over National Cancer Survivors weekend. Guests and celebrities attended to support this cause that affects so many. None other than one of our favorites, actress Kathy Bates, hosted the Ball. We admire Kathy for being a cancer survivor and a role model, she went through a battle with ovarian cancer and also went through a double mastectomy because breast cancer is eminent in her family. YOU GO GIRL! Kathy opened up to the crowd about her battle with breast cancer, and going through a double mastectomy. American Idol alum Katharine McPhee flew in from New York City just for the event to support the American Cancer Society and performed Over the Rainbow and songs from her previous show Smash. The American Cancer Society saves lives by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back against cancer.
