On April 2nd, 2016, the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton with returning host Ross Mathews. The GLAAD media award is an accolade bestowed upon various branches of the media for their outstanding presentations of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and the issues that affect their lives. Taylor Swift surprised everyone when she arrived on stage to present the Stephen F Kolzack Award. Derek Hough couldn’t get enough of Nene Leakes’ “fashion accessories” as they presented the Award for Outstanding Reality Television Series. The entire cast of I Am Cait graced the stage to receive this special award including Caitlyn Jenner. Caitlyn noted in her acceptance speech that everyone needs time to come out jokingly saying, “it took me a measly 65 years”. Ketel One was proud to celebrate excellence within the community and toast to the accomplishments achieved over the past year.
