Landing straight from Australia on July 25th, 2016 as a rock super group should, The Strokes headed straight to The Wiltern in Los Angeles to play their benefit concert for TheCityofAngels.org. 100% of the proceeds went to The Downtown Women’s Center, The Center in Hollywood & Waste Not Want Not Now. Since this show was for charity, not one ticket was handed out, even their wives had to pay to attend. The crowd went wild as the band members appeared onstage playing some of their best tunes including: Last Night, New York City Cops, What Ever Happened? and more. Lead singer Julian Casablancas joked with the crowd saying that the Hollywood Sign, which is our landmark here in LA, should glow in the dark. This very special performance is the one and only Strokes show in Los Angeles for 2016.
