Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization focused solely on ocean conservation and it has lots of supporters from the Hollywood community. On September 28th, 2015, Seth MacFarlane put together a special musical fundraiser to benefit this cause with his celebrity friends at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.
“We can’t have a truly healthy planet without healthy seas,” MacFarlane said, “so it’s great to be able to support Oceana and provide support to their efforts to save the oceans and feed the world.”
Following a cocktail reception, MacFarlane took the stage along with the 50-member Blue Oceans Orchestra. MacFarlane sang and emceed a musical program featuring performances by Kesha, Yoakam, Kristen Bell, Katharine McPhee, Mary Steenburgen, Amanda Seyfried, Sharon Lawrence, Rebekah Del Rio and Liz Gillies. Proceeds from the event will support Oceana’s effort to save the oceans and feed the world. The event also featured an accompanying online auction with several items available for bidding through early October, including a private lunch with Oceana board member Ted Danson, swimming lessons with Olympian and Oceana Ambassador Aaron Peirsol and more. The auction can be found HERE
