Quincy Jones, Keith Urban, NE-YO, Bebe Rexha, Ty Dolla $ign, and More at Spotify’s Secret Genius Awards in Los Angeles
On November 16th, Spotify honored the leading tastemakers, producers, songwriters and engineers behind some of the year’s most successful songs at the second annual Secret Genius Awards in Los Angeles. Grammy-Award winner NE-YO took the stage as host to celebrate Secret Geniuses across 14 categories including Songwriter of the Year, Producer of the Year, Breakthrough of the Year and more. The intimate room was filled with over 500 of some of the biggest industry innovators who came together to celebrate the brilliant contributions of music’s Secret Geniuses. NE-YO arrived literally ready to roll scooting across the Red Carpet with a broken foot replete with boot and motor scooter. Ali Tamposi, Benny Blanco and Andrew Watt were vibing down the carpet celebrating each other and their mutual nominations.
Once the award show kicked off, newly engaged Teddy Geiger and fiancé actress Emily Hampshire were spotted canoodling and were playfully dancing with their table. Coming off of his recent CMA Entertainer of the Year Award, Keith Urban presented the Secret Genius: Country award to David Garcia. Charli XCX and Becky G had major girl time and were seen chatting and hugging in between performances. In celebration of tonight’s winners, Bebe Rexha and BFF songwriter Justin Tranter were seen taking shots with their friends at their table. Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd was the social butterfly of the night, bouncing table to table, taking selfies with Bazzi, catching up with Kelly Rowland and Ty Dolla $ign. Upon accepting “Legendary Genius Honor,” Quincy Jones shared, “It all starts with a great song… that is the secret… the singer is just the messenger.” He concluded with powerful, parting words, “YOLO KOKO! You only live once, so keep on keepin’ on.”
