They have been making their mark on the L.A. scene for quite some time whether it is providing tunes for Justin Bieber’s VMA Party or getting Rihanna to dance her booty off at the Weeknd’s event. You better get your dancing shoes and party attire ready because we caught up with the MIDNITEMEN, the dynamic duo made of Akira The Don and Wade Crescent for the World Premiere of their new video “P.A.R.T.Y.”, our new nightlife anthem.

1. Bring us back to the day the MIDNITEMEN came about?

Well, we just chilling some where in 5D space beyond Sirius, like always, observing the planetary bodies within our ascribed zone, mainlining the culture of its inhabitants, dreaming about being two wavy human beings DJing parties and making rad music on Earth, then this terrifying super louche bald being appears and next thing we know we’re in spaceship with a load of crazy hot alien chicks headed to Earth. There’s a little movie about it on Youtube you can watch, its pretty amazing really.

2. What is one of the most interesting (weirdest) song that you have ever been requested to play?

Someone asked us to play Justin Bieber’s Sorry while we were playing Justin Bieber’s Sorry one time, that was kind of odd.

3. The MIDNITEMEN are definitely making a mark on the L.A. nightlife, what are some of the coolest parties that you two have DJ’d this year (and why)?

They’re all cool parties, somehow. Every single night, something ridiculous goes off. We did this VMA’s party and Justin Bieber jumped up on the booth and sang his-then brand new single “What Do U Mean” and the whole place acted like it was 1963 and The Beatles were onstage, which was super fun. And that party we did for The Weeknd at Blind Dragon was pretty dope too, him and Rihanna and Juicy J were, like, three foot from where we were playing, jumping up and down on the sofa with joyful abandon.

5. Your new single “P.A.R.T.Y.” says it all, that the MIDNITEMEN bring the fun, what was the concept for your new video?

Well basically after we got sent from 5D space to Earth and turned into 3D humans with amazing suits, we landed in the desert and went for a walk and ended up in Hollywood, which was super cool and neon and sexy, but we kept finding all these people who weren’t being as peak in their lives as they could be, so we helped them turn their lives into parties and now they’re all super happy. We’re basically peakwave alien superheroes, here to make everything splashy and joyful, like Superman if he’d landed in West Hollywood nightlife instead of Kansas and there were two of him and they had amazing sparkly suits.

6. Where can we catch you play this December in Los Angeles?

Every Tuesday at Bootsy Bellows and every Saturday at our very own Blind Dragon… and we’ll be doing some super cool parties between that. Keep an eye on the channels. Splash!
