The Grammy-Nominated Los Angeles Master Chorale had their annual gala this Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Walt Disney Concert Hall. This particular LAMC Gala was notable because the organization celebrated honoree Terry Knowle’s (seen in picture above) lasting run as LAMC President & CEO who will be stepping down at the conclusion of the season after 15 years of visionary leadership. “Terry cares deeply about the music and about our artists, and she has earned the admiration of all who have been touched by this organization” said Artistic Director Grant Gershon. The fancy evening featured champagne and hors d’oeuvres in Disney Hall’s dramatic lobby, a remarkable private performance by the Chorale conducted by Artistic Director Grant Gershon on stage, a gourmet dinner by Patina, the LAMC’s signature “Surround Sing,” during which Chorale singers encircle gala patrons and shower them in glorious song, irresistible auction items, and dancing to the music of Wayne Foster Entertainment. An exciting $475,000 was raised to help support LAMC’s artistic and education programs throughout the year.
