On Friday, March 6th, 2020, The Little Market Co-founders, Lauren Conrad, and Hannah Skvarla, hosted their third annual International Women’s Day event at The Bungalow Santa Monica. Honoring the artisan groups and social enterprises that The Little Market works with, the event brought together influential women across a variety of industries to support the organization’s commitment to female empowerment. “When we founded The Little Market, our goal was to give back, create positive change, empower women, and raise awareness around women’s rights. We ethically purchase artisan-made goods from artisans in underserved communities including refugees, women who have experienced homelessness, and individuals rising above poverty and help pave the path to brighter futures,” says Conrad. Attendees enjoyed a celebratory lunch along with Saje and Equilibira’s activations, photo moments from the Little Women film, and nameplate candles in collaboration with Amazon Handmade. The Little Market is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the economic empowerment of women worldwide. The Little Market sources from artisan groups and social enterprises in underserved communities and supports their livelihoods through ethical product purchases, with the belief that every person has the right to dignified, safe jobs and fair, living wages.
