Television personality, Kelly Osbourne hosted the annual Breaking the Silence Awards presented by the I Love Me Foundation in West Hollywood at the Andaz Hyatt Hotel on Thursday, September 29, 2016. Hair Guru, Chaz Dean along with Fred & Mark Anawalt, co-owners of Anawalt Lumber served as the event co-chairs. The Breaking the Silence Awards recognizes corporations and leaders who use their platform of influence to advocate for Sexual & Domestic Abuse awareness as well as fair inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and non-gender conforming community and the issues that affect their lives. Breaking the Silence Award Honorees included: Jasmine Lester, who was the recipient of the Voice of Courage Award, Emmy Award Journalist, Shaun Robinson who was the recipient of the Ally for Equality Award, Aaron Steed, who received the Purple Heart Award, and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) who were the recipients of the Community Engagement Award. During the evening reception, guests were entertained by the beats of DJ Cara Monday as they sipped wine & champagne provided by spirit sponsor Barefoot Wine & Bubbly. Wen by Chaz Dean served as the event title sponsors. Breaking the Silence Awards also garnered support from Anawalt Lumber, Samini Law, Walgreens, Froozer, The Garvey Group and Scholars Strategy Network.
