Sourcing Los Angeles Culture

Our Favorite LA Events: The Week Of November 27th – December 3rd featuring The Room, Tig Notaro and Much More!

Hey, we get it – Los Angeles is a big city. Not only are there endless opportunities for coffee stops, beach visits, and celebrity sightings, but the metropolis also boasts an absolutely massive catalogue of events. Even on a daily basis, the list of things to do can certainly seem a little overwhelming at times.

Somewhere, among the hazy smog that engulfs the city, lies a hotbed of culture and entertainment – you just have to sift through the haze to find what’s best. That’s why we over at LA Guestlist have done the work for you and put together the seven hottest, freshest, and most Los Angeles events we could find for you in the week of November 27th – December 3rd. Something for you each and every night.

We’ll try not to break your wallet, either.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28th

  • Surly Movie Night: The Room

With James Franco’s The Disaster Artist coming to theatres this Thursday, now is the perfect opportunity to see the film that started the phenomenon, The Room. The film is best seen with an audience (as participation from the crowd is almost half of the experience), and at a place like The Surly Goat bar as the destination, this audience is most definitely going to participate.

This will be taking place at the West Hollywood location. ‘Movie Scene Karoake’ is at 8:30 PM, with the movie staring at 9. You can read up on how the audience plays a role here.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 29th

  • Happy Place Pop Up

We’re not entirely sure how describe this other than one of the most Instagram-able areas in Los Angeles as of right now. Up until January 7th, Happy Place is a pop up experience that highlights positive, bright, and upbeat moments through artistic expression. There’s loads to see here, and it’s only for a limited time.

You can read more about it, and grab tickets here.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30th

  • Lucki

Chicago native Lucki is gracing the Union stage this Thursday following the release of this year’s Watch My Back. This show is going to be pulling no stops, only punches. One of his only shows in LA for the year, you definitely do not want to miss this.

You can grab tickets here.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1st

  • Tig Has Friends

Legendary comedian Tig Notaro has been commanding the stage (and screen) for years – now is your chance to see her live in Los Angeles, at the legendary Largo theatre. If you are unfamiliar with her work, Netflix’s Tig will get you up to speed on why this will be a night to remember, and if you need further proof, you can watch one of her specials on HBO, or check out her Amazon show, One Mississippi.

You can grab tickets here.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2nd

  • Urban Fetes Presents: Silent R&B Party

We’ve promoted silent discos in the past, and if you haven’t had the oppurtunity to check one out yet, now’s your chance! Urban Fetes is the leading name in throwing silent disco parties, which gift you a pair of headphones that you can alternate between three channels and three live DJ’s! Take the headphones off to speak, take a break from the music, or grab a drink! This event has a particular focus on classic R&B and hip-hop music!

You can grab tickets here.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 3rd

  • Emo Nite Day

Emo Nite, known for throwing some of the best emo-revival parties in LA, is celebrating their third anniversary by throwing a massive day long event. The lineup, which spreads over three stages, includes the likes of Machine Gun Kelly, Escape the Fate, GOTHBOICLIQUE, and plenty more. DJ sets, food trucks, art installations, drinks, and plenty more will be a part of the day as well.

General Admission tickets are still available here.
