EBONY Magazine held their annual Power 100 event, which is a list of African-Americans who impacted the community in a positive way. EBONY recognizes those who lead, inspire and demonstrate through their individual talents, the very best in Black America. The cover of this years issue was graced by Zendaya, Jesse Williams and Harry Belafonte. EBONY was also celebrating their 70th anniversary, which was founded in 1945, on Wednesday, December 2nd during their gala at the Beverly Hilton.
The 70’s themed affair hosted the likes of cover stars Jessie Williams and Zendaya, Tracee Ellis Ross, Anthony Anderson, Loretta Devine, Holly Robinson Peete, Tina Knowles Lawson and Richard Lawson, Ledisi, Salim and Mara Brock Akil among others. Attendees toasted to the EBONY Power 100 list and the publication’s milestone 70th anniversary. With a focus on advocacy, audacity and the arts, the stage was set for an unforgettable night. The memorable evening proved to hold many unforgettable moments ranging from emotional speeches to constant laughter courtesy of host Arsenio Hall.
