Carved at Descanso Gardens Lights Up October in Los Angeles

It’s that time of year again, and the folks at Descanso Gardens have outdone themselves with this year’s Carved event. A wonderful family friendly Halloween outing, Carved allows visitors to explore Descanso Gardens after-hours, with a plethora of dazzling illuminated installations and activities to enjoy.

Of course, the main event, what you all came for, is the illuminated trail. The walk, which takes about an hour to complete, features an wide array of immersive installations including Jack-O-Lanterns, skeletons, and other seasonal favorite imagery. Gorgeous and atmospheric lighting is set up all throughout the space, feeling highly atmospheric and immersive. The team behind Carved does an exceptionally clever job at utilizing the garden’s already beautiful layout, playing with light, shadow and space in ways that are highly inventive and truly beautiful.

Besides the trail, visitors will find a lot to enjoy including two corn mazes, souvenirs, and a wide range of food and drink options. The sweet treat offerings are particularly impressive, including pumpkin spice churros, apple pie sugar cookies, hot cider and more! There’s even a space to honor Dia De Los Muertos inviting visitors to write and place their own letters onto the installation.

Fans of Descanso Gardens and Halloween season will find a lot to love here. This is an absolutely perfect event for families to attend, nestled right in the city. If you’ve enjoyed their other seasonal light show, Enchanted: Forest of Lights, you will love this too!

Carved runs select nights through October 30. For tickets and more information, you can visit their website here.
