The Art of Elysium’s Art Salon Honors Sébastien Léon: A Celebration of Art, Music, and Philanthropy

The Art Salon, an established initiative by The Art of Elysium Charity, serves as a dynamic platform where a wide cross section of artists, philanthropists, thought leaders and brands unite in a mesmerizing fusion of art and philanthropy. Tonight, The Art Salon hosted a remarkable event to honor the accomplished visual artist Sébastien Léon. This gathering took place on July 12th, 2023 in Los Angeles, California, uniting art enthusiasts, philanthropists, and notable individuals for an inspiring and memorable evening.

Founded by Jennifer Howell, The Art of Elysium is a renowned charitable organization that is dedicated to bringing the transformative power of the arts to communities and individuals in need. Their work includes over 100 programs a month that reach more than 300 thousand people a year, and ranges from providing music to children in hospitals, to delivering artistic experiences to those in hospice, and everything in between that gives joy and healing through the arts.

As a dedicated volunteer for The Art of Elysium, Sébastien Léon has made a significant impact through his artistic contributions. A talented multi-media artist from France, Sebastian now lives in Los Angeles, known for his exploratory and thought-provoking art. He combines different artistic techniques like painting, sculpture, and installations to create immersive experiences. Léon’s work explores themes of identity, memory, and what it means to be human, offering viewers a unique perspective on life’s complexities.

Guests started arriving promptly at seven o’clock and were greeted by a glowing neon Heaven sign, a nod to the event the charity is most famous for, as well as the tie in to its name. Guests were beautifully attired and came from a wide variety of backgrounds and industries that were united by their clear love of the arts, and the mission of the charity. During the cocktail hour, guests were treated to an assortment of fondue, charcuterie, and a selection of fine wines and champagnes, generously provided by Terra Firma. Paying tribute to Léon’s French heritage, signature French 75s were served, adding an elegant touch to the evening.

The event featured the unveiling of his exclusive limited edition print, “The Dream Machine.” The print, available in a set of 100, allowed attendees to acquire a unique piece of Léon’s beguiling artwork for $100.00 per piece. Adding to the ambiance of the event was an intimate musical performance by Claude Fontaine, an acclaimed artist known for her soulful melodies, accompanied by guitarist Kleber Jorge. Their three song set was performed to a rapt audience during the cocktail hour and created an atmosphere of artistic appreciation. Following the musical performance, guests were escorted to the elegant Restoration Hardware art salon. There, they enjoyed a delightful French dinner prepared by esteemed chefs Damien Sylvester and Quinn Goodness, and the skilled team from Catering of Paris. The menu showcased three savory crepes, including vegan options, accompanied by a mouthwatering dessert crepe and a selection of vibrant French salads.

During the event, Maureen Lee Consilvio, Development Director, and CEO & Founder Jennifer Howell delivered insightful speeches on The Art of Elysium’s mission and the transformative power of art in healing. Dinner was followed by an engaging Q&A session featuring Sébastien Léon and Arts of Elysium Founder Jennifer Howell, exploring the artist’s creative process and its deep connection to the #artheals mission.

The event welcomed notable guests, including Sébastien Léon, Claude Fontaine (Singer), Alicia Witt (Actress & Singer), Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) , Dr. Jay Wellons (author of All That Moves Us and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Vanderbilt University), Dr. Melissa Wellons (wife of Jay Wellons and a doctor at Vanderbilt), Melanie Pullen (artist), IAMLUCK (musician), Charlayne Woodard (currently starring in Secret Invasion and Mayfair Witches) and other respected figures from the art and philanthropic communities. The Art Salon’s event honoring Sébastien Léon was a resounding success, bringing together art enthusiasts, philanthropists, and talented individuals to celebrate the transformative power of art and its ability to inspire healing and positive change.
