Celebrating the culture of skateboarding, the 2015 Dew Tour held it’s first-ever all skate event in Downtown LA this past weekend, hosting the world’s best skateboarders for three days of competitions, movie premieres and concerts. Centered at the Ace Hotel, the lifestyle event saw approximately 15,000 people experience the Dew Tour Los Angeles.
The Dew Tour kicked off the festivities with the world premiere of Mountain Dew’s We Are Blood on Thursday August 13th. The various skate competition started with the Skate Vert Final on Friday, August 14 with a win by 21-year old Jimmy Wilkins. To end a successful first day of skating, eight skaters brought the world premiere of Dew Tour PUSH by the Berrics to the fans at the Theater at the Ace Hotel.
The action continued Saturday and Sunday with Kelvin Hoefler grabbing the win for both the Skate Street Final and Streetstyle Competition. This course was really amazing,” said Hoefler of the streetstyle course. “Ryan Sheckler was the last guy to skate, so I wasn’t sure if he was going to come and take first place. I can’t believe I won in the end. I’m so stoked.” An exciting highlight of the weekend was when Kendrick Lamar performed for the Top Dawg Entertainment at the Ace Theater which got the crowd amped.
The 2015 Dew Tour will culminate December 10-14 at Breckenridge Ski Resort for a snowboard and freeski event. For additional Dew Tour event information, Click HERE
