The h.wood Group’s new surrealism concept venue Poppy is sure to be West Hollywood’s newest hot spot. It’s whimsical concept developed by John Terzian of The h.wood Group and designed by John Sofio of Built, Inc. fits perfectly in the world of make believe. With a soft private opening to press and media before officially opening its doors to the public on Thursday, August 24th, attendees were encompassed in the venue’s extravagant layout.
Poppy (755 N. La Cienaga Blvd., West Hollywood, CA) is a hybrid nightclub concept portraying a fantasy world transporting into an underlying stream of consciousness filled with the extensive menagerie of characters from a storybook setting. Poppy’s layout features a private room housing an exclusive bar under a curved upholstered ceiling where Hollywood’s royalty will enjoy their night in comfort and luxury. The nightclub will be open only on Thursdays from 10 pm to 2 am.
Throughout the venue, guests were whisked away feeling lost in a surrealistic dream, finding themselves among the whimsical bohemian cast of modern mermaids, peacock poppies, garden gypsies, baroque layers, human animals, with swinging storytellers. Submerged in this trance, the hottest DJ’s spin great music, opening the atmosphere to socializing and dancing or lounging in the indoor/outdoor patio area. Guests received personalized poems and caricature portraits encapsulated in oversized roses, oyster shells and crystallized bathtubs.
