Inside Look at the Opening Reception for Anwar’s Carrot Field “Pick, Pack & Shipped” Presented By Scion AV

Travel down Melrose Ave and about a block before you reach the infamous Fairfax district you stumble across an inviting life-size neon orange autograph. Propped over wooden produce crates that are stacked on top of artificial turf and protected by barbed wire, the signature reads Anwar Carrots. Venture inside and you are introduced to the newest LA Streetwear brand. On Saturday, March 28 loads of culture connoisseurs filled the installation space for Carrot Field: Pick, Pack & Shipped an exhibition of product curated by Anwar Carrots and presented in partnership with Scion AV.

The fellowship marked the grand launch of Anwar Carrots’ own brand, a carefully crafted selection of tees, hoodies, skullcaps and jackets available in choices of orange, black, white and navy blue. Hung against the far wall for display are four large pieces of remarkable artwork by Stellablu, Evan Rossell, SLVSTR and Pixote. Just underneath the colorful and exuberant pieces are another set of scattered produce crates, this time strategically placed to display navy blue throw pillows engraved with the letter “C” for Carrots of course. Also amongst the open space is a glass display of about 100 BIC lighters personalized with the Carrot logo as well as unique merchandise like a mini wooden Dock Bar Acoustic iPad Amplifier.

The real celebration is happening outback. Moving through a crowd of people, some meeting for the first time and some cult followers of the legacy Anwar Carrots hauls from his former label Peas & Carrots. Walking back into the narrow yet deep installation space, Scion AV has set up a small station alongside the restrooms equipped with a large flat screen TV running plugs for their newest vehicles. Moving on up a short flight of stairs its almost surprising to overlook a crammed parking lot sized patio equipped with an open bar, DJ proof sounds, and a freshly painted graffiti wall.

The opening ceremony for Carrot Field: Pick, Pack & Shipped proved to be not just a major success for Anwar Carrots but a much needed breathe of fresh experiences for consumers of streetwear culture.

Visit the Scion AV installation space located at 7667 Melrose Ave from 12PM to 7PM to preview the collection and get a personal walk through the carefully planted Carrot Field through April 25.
