Different Types of Casino Games to Try

For the thousands of years it’s been around, gambling has always been popular. But it’s had a resurgence in the last decade or so due to the rise of online casinos. These websites have made it possible to play your favorite games from the comfort of your own home. Of course, the global lockdowns meant that everyone stuck at home went online to find new ways to entertain themselves. With this rise in popularity has come an increase in the quality and types of games available. Live dealer games are a recent concept for online casinos, but gambling visitors love them, so they’re becoming more widespread. Whether you’re brand new to gaming and want to see what types of games are out there and choose the ones which appeal to you, or you’re a truly experienced gamer but you’re tired of the same games you play as a routine – here is a list of some of the different types of casino games that you might want to try out.

Every casino will organize its games a little differently, but generally, you can find a group of games called table games. If you think back to the casinos in films, suits, dresses, sparkles, and alcohol, these are the games that will have a group of people sitting around a table to watch the game in the center play out. Card games are in this category (though we will deal with poker separately below), and there is a lot to choose from. You have probably heard of Blackjack; closest to 21 without going over wins. Baccarat is on the rise in online casinos (you bet on both hands to guess who will be the winner), so you are likely to have come across this too. It’s a fun game, and the rules are easy to learn, so it’s worth giving it a go. Some games you might not have come across include Yablon (also called Red Dog), where the player sees two cards and bets whether a third will fall within their range, and Teen Patti, where each player has three cards and bet on whether their hand is the highest ranking. Only the US market reached more than 60 billion dollars in revenue and according to American Gambling there are about 30 states where gambling is legal in one form or another.

Dice Games and Roulette also count as table games. A dice game that most people have come across is Craps, which is betting on the total number that shows on a pair of dice, but there is also Sic Bo, an old Chinese game that uses three dice and players can bet on the numbers that will come up (ranges, exact numbers, sequences, etc.) There are variations of Roulette available, including live dealer games. It’s one of the most popular online and real-world casino games, so if you haven’t tried it out, it’s worth giving it a go. Just make sure you understand the odds for the variation you’re playing and not a similar one.

Poker

Poker is in its own category here, as it can be a bit intimidating for people to start playing. This is the case whether you’re an old hand at gaming or brand new. Poker is one of those games where the rules are simple and quick to pick up, but mastering the nuances of the game, learning the right tactics, and reading fellow players can take a lifetime of practice. There are different types of poker, and if you want to start playing, you need to make sure that you are familiar with the rules for the exact version that you are playing. For example, there is a five-card draw, seven-card stud, high-low Chicago (a variation on a seven-card stud), Texas hold ’em, and Omaha (a twist on Texas hold’em). In addition, there is a difference between American Poker and British Poker. Individual countries have their own versions.

Live dealer games have soared in popularity, particularly for poker. Casinos like Slotslv have honed in on the fact that these games are much more social and that this interaction was missing from the original online games. Playing in a live dealer game can bring back those little nuances of the game, the reading of other people and the dealer, and reintroduce a little of the thrill that comes with sitting down to a game.

Slots

Slots are classic casino games. Of course, the glitz and glamor come to mind when thinking of a casino, but the likelihood is you also think of the old one-arm bandit machines. You might be a little surprised if you haven’t checked out any slots recently. Online casinos know that they’re under a lot of competition, and as a result, there seems to be infinite variety in the types of slot games available. You can find ones with different numbers of rows, different bonuses, and different jackpot styles, and even the themes are all out there. If you wanted to find a 7-row, immediate payout, pirate-themed slot machine, it probably wouldn’t take you too long to find one.

When looking for gaming entertainment, people either go for the quick and cheerful or the more skill-based in-depth games. If you normally go for the latter, why not try a different game entirely and have 5 or 10 minutes on some slots. They’re entertaining and fast-paced and a complete change from what you’re used to. So there are some ideas for casino games to try. If you’re an experienced gamer, try out something you’ve never done or research less common games. If you’re new to gaming, see what appeals and give it a go!
