D’Alessio Law: Securing The Immigration Dreams of Many
Immigration attorney Lorraine D’Alessio calls herself a ‘first generation immigrant turned immigration attorney’, having both experience and training in securing Visas, Green Cards and other official immigration accreditation for a wide clientele base. She explains that during her travels as a model and actress and business consultant for various high-profile brands like Snickers, Lipton, and Volkswagen, she became aware of the many challenges immigrants faced. She hadn’t set out to become an attorney, but said she made the decision then to be a part of the solution; and to combine her educational background in political science and public administration, and experience to secure a United States law degree.
The result? Her state-of-the art boutique Beverly Hills law firm D’Alessio Law. Today, she has over ten years experience leading the firm, and she is not only a sought-after speaker and consultant in her chosen profession, but has, together with her team, successfully helped countless clients to pursue new life in the United States. This, she explains, often requires ‘creative problem solving’. However, it’s these challenges which fuel her passion for her profession. She acknowledges no case is the same, but with determination and tenacity, realising a new life in another country is possible. Through the firm, she hasn’t just realised her own dreams, but made it her duty to help her clients realise their dreams through obtaining secure and legal residence.
From Model to ‘Super Lawyer’
Lorraine explains that from her first career, as a Ford Model, she was intrigued by the legal process and how demystifying this process could impact those wanting to gain legal rights in various matters. Her decision to apply her education and skills towards this means has resulted in her obtaining the status of Super Lawyer. She obtained this prestigious title from 2023 to 2025 and a Rising Star accolade every year since 2012. She also serves on the boards of MangoRX, American International Holdings Corporation, Artists for Change, and the Young Presidents’ Organization, and has lent her counsel to U.S. embassies worldwide, as well as to the World Trade Center.
A Woman To Be Reckoned With in a Male-Dominated Industry
Lorraine was honored as one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers by the Los Angeles Business Journal. She was also a recipient of the Top 25 Women of Influence award. As a woman in a male-dominated industry she has perhaps had to work harder than most to gain industry respect and acclaim – however, she has done just this. Her law firm isn’t just sought after by those needing immigration assistance. She also runs an informative legal channel on Youtube where her model looks, intelligence and professional expertise combine to open up the world of legal excellence to a wide audience.
An Industry Fraught with Challenges
Lorraine doesn’t wax lyrical about her profession. She cuts straight to the chase, explaining that immigration law has many challenges. However, it seems she thrives on these and enjoys finding creative, legally-sound ways to overcome them. She says of immigration law that it is one of the hottest issues of each presidential administration. “With changing policies, and non-stop scrutiny into the process, the immigration process itself is unpredictable and ever-evolving.”
She recounts one of her biggest career challenges during the recent Covid-19 pandemic. During the height of the pandemic, border closures threatened her and her team’s ability to bring clients into the United States. As a professional involved with immigration procedures, these closures spelled a recipe for disaster for her law firm. However, she and her team strategically addressed the challenge and found ways to help clients out. “We developed a partnership with a law firm based in Mexico, which allowed our clients to enter through the Mexico border,” she says. This partnership has continued to be an option for immigrants for whom interview and appointment wait times in their home country are obscenely long.
An Empathetic Approach Towards Immigration Law
Today, Lorraine hopes to elevate her law firm to new status in North America, and to establish it as the go-to, premiere boutique immigration, entertainment and business law firm for North America. That’s an ambitious project, but then Lorraine has never been one to shy away from challenges. D’Alessio Law Group was recently recognized as the 2024 Best Law Firm in California by the Business Excellence Awards. Her team has also worked with Google X CEO Astro Teller in a professional capacity.
She believes law firm’s strength is that it embraces an empathetic approach towards clients. This is mostly because it is operated by many first-generation immigrants who have first-hand knowledge of the immigration law process. For the strategic, no-nonsense professional with a soft heart and endless zeal, it’s all about helping others achieve their dreams through securing their immigration rights, and even if this involves some challenges; then she and her team are up for the challenge and ready to assist with all client immigration needs.
