Invite Only – On Saturday, November 7, notables from the art, film, fashion, and entertainment industries will unite at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) to honor artist James Turrell and filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu. In its fifth year, the 2015 Art+Film Gala is co-chaired by LACMA trustee Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who both continue to champion LACMA’s film initiatives. Expect a performance by Sam Smith. Proceeds from the gala will be used to support LACMA’s initiative to make film more central to the museum’s curatorial programming while also funding LACMA’s broader mission. This includes a robust film program led by Film Independent at LACMA curator Elvis Mitchell, as well as exhibitions, acquisitions, educational programming, and screenings that explore the intersection of art and film. Champagne for the evening is generously provided by Laurent-Perrier. Specialty tequila cocktails provided by Casamigos Tequila.
