UNICEF Ball Raises Over $2.5 Million to Save and Protect the World’s Children presented by Louis Vuitton

At last night’s Ball on January 12th, UNICEF honored two outstanding humanitarians and philanthropists – UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador David Beckham and President of the University of Southern California C.L. Max Nikias – who promote UNICEF’s values and work to put children first. The event was emceed by UNICEF Ambassador Angie Harmon and featured a performance by Grammy Award-winning recording artist Mariah Carey.

Last night also marked the launch of Louis Vuitton for UNICEF, a global partnership that will support children around the globe impacted by humanitarian emergencies. Every child has the right to a fair chance in life. Yet millions of children see their rights brutally violated and their hopes destroyed. Nowhere is the harsh reality more apparent than in the lives of children caught up in humanitarian crises. This is why we’d like to make a promise to help children in urgent need.

Louis Vuitton challenged their teams to come up with a special product: the Silver Lockit. Inspired by the un-pickable tumbler lock, invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to protect clients’ most precious belongings, this Silver Lockit is a symbol of protection. It also seals our promise to help children, as for each piece sold, $200 will be donated to UNICEF. Louis Vuitton will also encourage our staff members and clients to make donations to UNICEF, all through the year and especially during emergencies.
