Nicole Richie and Zooey Deschanel Host “Baby2Baby Back2School Presented by Stitch Fix Kids and Epic”

In August, schools will begin to fully reopen and students will return to campus, many of whom have not been back since March 2020. In preparation, nonprofit Baby2Baby, along with Board Member Nicole Richie and Angel Zooey Deschanel, hosted “Baby2Baby Back2School Presented by Stitch Fix Kids and Epic” in the heart of Boyle Heights, a community in Los Angeles battling increasingly high rates of income and housing insecurity due to the pandemic. Over 95% of parents in the families who attended the event have either lost their jobs or had their work hours reduced.

The event provided families with basic essentials while giving children a fun and memorable experience after such a devastating year. Nicole Richie was on-site to distribute clothing in the Stitch Fix Kids pop-up shop, where students could pick out brand new back to school outfits, provided through Stitch Fix Kids’ donation of more than $1 million worth of clothing for the children Baby2Baby serves across the country. Zooey Deschanel worked in the Epic library, helping students stock up on Epic Originals books for the upcoming school year. Thanks to the underwriting support of Stitch Fix Kids and Epic, Baby2Baby was also able to supply families with the items they needed for the upcoming school year, including backpacks, school supplies, hygiene & safety items, groceries, diapers, sporting equipment, and more. Newly Announced Baby2Baby Angel Katy Perry also attended the event and helped distribute backpacks filled with school supplies.
