Iconic denim and lifestyle brand GUESS and GUESS Foundation proudly announced their third year as the official fashion sponsor of Denim Day to support Los Angeles based nonprofit organization, Peace Over Violence. The campaign launched on March 22, 2016 with a cocktail event at MOCA, and will culminate with Denim Day on April 27, 2016. Peace Over Violence’s mission is to build healthy relationships, families and communities to be free from sexual, domestic and interpersonal violence.
The Denim Day cocktail event catered to local celebrities and philanthropists in hopes to educate the key attendees on the brand’s initiative with Peace Over Violence and raise awareness surrounding the mission. “I’m thrilled to be partnering with Peace Over Violence on Denim Day for the third year in a row to raise awareness surrounding domestic violence and sexual assault,” says Paul Marciano, Chief Creative Officer of GUESS. Event speakers included GUESS co-founders, Paul and Maurice Marciano, Denim Day Founder, Patti Giggans, Executive Director of Violence Intervention Program, Astrid Heger as well as musicians, Aloe Blacc & Maya Jupiter. Notable attendees included Ade M’Cormack, Kamilah Willingham, Jordyn Jones, Kelsey Soles, Marta Pozzan, Natalie Joos, Tanika Ray, Travis Mills, and ZZ Ward.
The GUESS Foundation will donate 10% of the proceeds from all denim and select accessories sales including watches, jewelry, shoes, fragrances, handbags and eyewear to Peace Over Violence starting Monday, April 25, 2016 through Saturday, April 30, 2016.
