G-Star Raw held an exclusive dinner and after-party at Butchers & Barbers on May 27th, 2015 in honor of their ‘Raw for the Ocean Collection’. The delicious feast was provided by Chef Luke Reyes and drinks by Perrier Jouet Champagne. The evening got close and personal with G-Star’s ‘Raw for The Ocean Collection’, which uses recycled plastic with the help of Bionic Yarn to create fashionable everyday cloth curated by Pharell Williams. Global Brand Director for G-star Raw, Shubhankar Ray, said in their Plastic Age documentary in collaboration with I-D Magazine that the line involves “Science, activism, and fashion. Innovation comes from a lot of different people working together.” Their goal is to to turn ocean plastic debris into an amazing material for the fashion industry. The documentary itself is eye-opening on the current condition of our planet. G-Star’s ‘Raw for the Ocean’ collection is a great step into the initiative that we should be taking on in order to progress as a race.
