Invite Only – In anticipation of the September 20 public opening of The Broad, L.A.’s newest contemporary art museum, philanthropists and longtime collectors Edye and Eli Broad will host a black tie inaugural dinner for 800 guests on September 17. The Broad will be home to 2,000 works of art in the Broad collection, which is among the most prominent holdings of postwar and contemporary art worldwide. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler, the 120,000-square-foot, $140-million building, is an artwork in itself with its honeycomb-like exterior and column-free exhibition space on the third floor.
