The Digital Age meets Louis Vuitton at Their Series 2 Exhibit

Think about the Series 2 exhibition as a mix of Tupac’s Hologram meets Andy Warhol meets high fashion design house Louis Vuitton. See picture below (photo via)

The visuals involved in this exhibition pushed the Digital Age boundaries, and really exposed how far we have come in terms of technology. The picture above is Louis Vuitton‘s Infinite Show, a 360 degree projection of their Spring/Summer 2015 runway presentation. There is literally a model coming at you from every direction, one of my worst nightmares.

The over the top visuals stole some of the attention away from the actual brand that is Louis Vuitton. There was so much to take in that it was hard to get a concrete feel of their Spring/Summer Collection. Our favorite part of the exhibit was the Accessory Gallery, (seen in main picture) and the simplicity employed in displaying their product. They used white mannequins, in an all white room, in legendary fashion poses, which really made their timeless accessories pop. You can also see their 1927 book which contains every customer who made an order to Louis Vuitton that year.

You can call us old fashioned, but Louis Vuitton doesn’t need to be over the top to make a statement, since their pieces speak for themselves. They don’t need to pull an ‘Andy Warhol‘ to get attention, but we do admire the digital movement, that they are precursors of, in the Fashion world. You should definitely give the Series 2 exhibition a look and formulate your own opinion.

The exhibition is located at 1135 North Highland Avenue and is open to the public, FREE, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Feb. 22, when it will move to its next destination: Beijing.
