Spotify, the music streaming service, held a VIP lounge at The Standard in Downtown Los Angeles in honor of the 2015 ESPYs. Spotify showed that they are stepping up their game in the music streaming world with their new added features that they demonstrated at the event to celebrities such as Shaun Ross and Ace Hood. The more notable addition is their new “running” option, that measures your heart rate per minute to match it to the beats per minute of the music that you are listening to. The faster that you run means that your music will have more beats per minute according to the genre that you picked. Spotify measures your heart rate by the movements of your arms while you are running, with your phone in hands. Other exciting features include a “podcast” option and “video streaming” option. Adam King from The Real World: Paris works for Spotify and invited some of his MTV family to the event including Ryan Malaty and Brittany Baldi from Are you the One?. This was the perfect way to spend one of the toughest days of the week aka Monday to recharge our batteries.
