On Thursday, May 26, 2016, The Paley Center for Media presented PaleyLive LA: An Evening with ‘Orange is the New Black’ at its Beverly Hills location.
From Jenji Kohan, the creator of Weeds, Netflix’s Orange is the New Black is a thought-provoking, funny and evocative show about life in a women’s prison based on the best-selling memoir by Piper Kerman. Cast members were on hand to discuss the evolution of the series and how it continues to successfully straddle comedy and drama in only the way that Kohan and her team of writers can do, while reflecting on favorite moments from season three and what viewers can expect from this upcoming season which launches on Netflix Friday, June 17.
Attendees included: Taylor Schilling, “Piper Chapman”; Kate Mulgrew, “Galina ‘Red’ Reznikov”; Natasha Lyonne, “Nicky Nichols”; Taryn Manning, “Tiffany ‘Pennsatucky’ Doggett”; Selenis Leyva, “Gloria Mendoza”; and Michael Harney, “Sam Healy”. The panel was moderated by Krista Smith, Executive West Coast Editor of Vanity Fair.
