Original Penguin was introduced in 1955 by Munsingwear, a Minneapolis-based underwear and military garment manufacturer, when it launched the brands iconic golf shirts. Now jump 60 years later where you can find Original Penguin throughout the world at outlets including Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, and Nordstrom.
To celebrate this major milestone, Original Penguin invited Los Angeles natives to their store off of Melrose. Guests enjoyed beverages by Sailor Jerry, Mamma Chia and PBR while scoping out Original Penguin’s inventory. UK-based indie rock band Life in Film played some of their delightful tunes in honor of the party. They share a similar sound to Vampire Weekend, just way more British. Original Penguin might be 60 years old, but it hasn’t aged one bit.
