Levi’s Dropped It Like It’s Hot for the 50th Anniversary of the Trucker Jacket

The first year of Levi’s 707505 Type III Trucker jacket, 1967, was a magical year that saw the first successful human heart transplant, first issue of Rolling Stone and first legal interracial marriage in the United States. Fifty years later, love, music and diversity are all key elements to Levi’s anniversary of their Trucker jacket. To commemorate the special occasion, Levi’s invited fifty influential fans of the iconic American brand – including Justin Timberlake, Diplo, Karlie Kloss, Clayton Kershaw, Virgil Abloh and Karla Welch – to design custom jackets as part of a special art installation for their recent celebration in Los Angeles. Welcomed by tables stacked with denim and tunes from special guest DJ Snoop Dogg, party guests arriving the Levi’s Haus were gifted with jackets and able to customize them on site with embroidery, airbrushing, chain-stitching, patches and pins from Levi’s Tailor Shop Pop Up. The platinum blonde braided Solange Knowles got the crowd buzzing before the evening’s main event: an intimate, energetic performance from Grammy-winner Chance The Rapper. Power couple Adam Devine and Chloe Bridges, Taylor Kitsch, Haim, Kaytranada, Shaun White, K-pop superstar CL and “This Is Us” star Susan Kelechi Watson had no problems dancing to the “No Problem” hip hop prodigy from Chicago, sipping on skinny margaritas and nibbling on crispy chicken biscuit sliders under the West Hollywood moon. After the party, Chance was spotted wearing his custom Trucker jacket enjoying a fun evening with friends at The Dream Hotel’s Highlight Room and H.Wood Group’s latest gem Poppy catching a special performance from Nas and Diddy.
