We were so excited when were heard the news that Iconic California Brand Wildfox was opening their second location in Malibu at The Malibu Country Mart that we had to talk to the founder of Wildfox, Kim Gordon, who is a true style icon and girl boss.

Why is Malibu such a great location for Wildfox to open their second stores? (which, I think, it is the perfect location for Wildfox’s brand)
Iconic location. Fits the beach vibe of the brand and launching at the beginning of summer worked out perfect, especially for our Summer 2015 ‘Feeling Of Summer’ collection which is routed in California.

What is the inspiration behind Wildfox’s new collection?
I wanted the collection to have the feeling of reading an easy summer beach house novel, with addicting female characters staying at their beach house in the Hamptons, they are 1970’s New Yorkers that Woody Allen would have obsessed about. I also wanted to convey the true feeling of summer, what it is to me; going barefoot down the back path out onto the beach, coming back to the house after a long day in the sun with big easy T shirts and slightly sunburned skin. I love in the summer when you have all your girlfriends in the house and there are wet bikinis strewn in the shower, sunscreens and perfumes all over the sink counters, the smell of bacon at 11am… Dad singing in the kitchen, and just the freedom to do nothing, maybe a little shellfish grocery shopping at the corner grocery store and blasting Frank Sinatra in this old family vacation home. I love in the summer when you’ve been out late with the girls and wake up together in bed, sand all over the sheets, still wearing your bathing suit with just a hoodie on over it. Summer is magic.

What made you identify with and/or choose this concept?
California has almost a permanent summer and growing up here leaves you with tons of unforgettable beach memories, but what I really love is after the beach… the parents house that you laze around in and call boys for hours to arrange that nights bonfire.

Why do you choose the Cobra Snake to do your Spreads?
He’s a personal friend of the brand and we love his work!

Who are your ideal muses for Wildfox’s Summer 15 collection (from any era)?
Absolutely Dianne Keaton circa 1970’s, and also my girlfriends in High school who are just stunning and wild… we were unstoppable in the summer.

If you could sum up the Summer 15 collection in one word, song, or destination what would it be?
“I’ve got the world on a string”

Sandy, salty, happy

Name three staple styles from this collection you would recommend to the Wildfox customer:
I love the white hamptons T, it’s so easy to throw on with sweats and it really says it all! I’m also obsessed with all of the crabby things!

What is your personal favorite piece of Wildfox’s Summer 15 and why?
The all white essentials are so summer to me, I think everyone needs lots of white pre labor day goodies.

Wildfox Malibu is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
