A beautiful surprise blossomed in the middle of the night on Monday July 27th, 2015, at the first bridge north of the Santa Monica Pier. yarn of multiple colors (exactly 1,180 strands of yarn into a spectrum of 14 spun shades) was placed above the bridge creating a rainbow illusion. This little gem was created by artist Hot Tea and is titled Migration. Hot Tea uses material that easily disintegrates, so that is is not harmful to public spaces. This project was done under the radar in the middle of the night without the city’s approval, so it might be taken down any second. You can catch a glimpse of it in Santa Monica, and his yarn installation at the the Long Beach Museum of Art part of Vitality and Verve up through October 25th.
