The First Annual “Girls To The Front” benefiting Girls Rock Camp Foundation took place Over the Weekend at Chateau Marmont

The Girls Rock Camp Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps to fund over 45 Girls Rock Camps across the United States, hosted its first annual “Girls To The Front” benefit. At Girls Rock Camps, girls learn to find and amplify their creative voices in a fun, supportive environment, building confidence that extends to every area of their lives. Funds raised through the organization help to aid educational programming, site improvements, and scholarship initiatives to make Girls Rock Camps more accessible to girls from all economic backgrounds. The event sponsored by Windows, Showtime, Universal and Medea Vodka took place at the Chateau Marmont, in Hollywood, CA. The evening was hosted by Golden Globe Award winning actress Rachel Bloom with a special performance by indie rock sensation HAIM. Included in the night was a VIP seated dinner hosted by GRCF board member and iconic musician Beth Ditto, followed by a cocktail reception with DJ Short Shorts and many special guests.

Following the cocktail hour, actress Hailee Steinfeld introduced honorees Justin Tranter & Julia Michaels, the in-demand songwriting duo who are behind hit songs including Justin Beiber’s Sorry and Selena Gomez’s Good For You. While musician Miguel introduced honoree Ethiopia Habtemariam, Motown Records/President of Urban Music/Co-Head of Creative at Universal Publishing Music Group. the night ended with a captivating performance by HAIM as guests danced and sang along to set favorites The Wire and Honey & I off their 2013 debut Days Are Gone, finishing with a special cover of Fleetwood Mac’s classic Dreams. Celebrity and entertainment industry heavy-weights showed up to support ‘girls that rock’ all over the nation. Some of the attendees included: HAIM, Rachel Bloom, Beth Ditto, Hailee Steinfeld, Miguel, ZZ Ward, Justin Tranter & Julia Micheals, Ethiopia Habtemariam, Lana Condor and many more.
