We were a little skeptical when we heard that SVEDKA Vodka was launching their Grapefruit Jalapeño Flavor. The bitterness of grapefruit and the spiciness of the jalapeño just sounds like an odd mix in theory. To put our skepticism to rest, we ventured to the SVEDKA Vodka’s Summer Fiesta in a mansion down Benedict Canyon Drive in Beverly Hills for the official launch of their Grapefruit Jalapeño Flavor. SVEDKA’S new flavor turned out to be delicious, especially in a summer outdoor pool setting, which is how the event was laid out. Guests were treated to signature cocktails (see recipe below) served out of jalapeño’s and party games including swinging at the oversized SVEDKA Grapefruit Jalapeño-shaped bottle piñata and life-size tic-tac-toe on the lawn. DJ Saint Clair spun poolside while a mariachi band, aerialist and stilt walkers entertained the crowd including, Sophie Monk and Cher Lloyd, along with Adore Delano, Raja, and Willam, former stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The star of the evening was Eva Longoria dressed in a festive yellow dress that matched the SVEDKA Grapefruit Jalapeño bottle. She partook in every SVEDKA activity throughout the mansion and seemed to be really enjoying herself.

2 parts SVEDKA Grapefruit Jalapeño

1 part elderflower liqueur

½ part fresh lemon juice

½ part fresh limejuice

2 strawberry slices

2 orange slices

Pinch of mint

Club soda

Instructions: Lightly muddle fruit and mint in the bottom of a Collins glass. Fill with ice, add remaining liquid ingredients and top with club soda. Garnish with sliced strawberries, sliced oranges and mint.
