De Re Gallery presents ‘We Were Here’ by Tania Dibbs

In an exhibit space where modern prodigies mingle with established masters, De Re Gallery debuted its ‘We Were Here’ exhibition by artist Tania Dibbs on Thursday, January 14. As De Re Gallery’s first exhibition opening of the year, it was the most desired event of the night. Art collectors and enthusiasts, celebrities and VIP guests showed up to support Dibbs at her first solo show in Los Angeles. Prominent attendees include Stephanie Bauer of Access Hollywood, Shae Wilbur of Extra, actor Blake Cooper Griffin and more. The opening reception offered Peroni Nastro Azzurro for guests to enjoy throughout the night.

Working in oils, encaustic and sculpture, Dibbs seeks to explore the complicated relationship between the natural world and mankind’s endeavors in this latest body of work. Inspired by “anthropocene,” the geological era marked by the effects of mankind, ‘We Were Here’ is a by-product of the cultural shift that has resulted in a sense of separation from our environment and the state of eco-emergency that has ensued. She intentionally uses the undeniable power of beauty as a vehicle to lead the viewer beyond the distaste of acknowledging the inconvenient or painful truth.

Dibbs’ ability to explore the beauty of nature, disrupted by the ambition of footprint and man, has contributed to her international acclaim with her work being widely collected by a national and international clientele. She has showcased her work in a range of solo and group shows across the United States. In addition to this, Dibbs has received prominent honors-such as the Aspen Foundation grant-and her work has been featured in high-profile publications throughout the United States. ‘We Were Here’ will be on display exclusively at De Re Gallery from January 14-February 13 in Los Angeles.
