My Confession on LA’s Latest Lounge: Confession

Robert Kennedy partnered with Sunset Entertainment Group founders Chris Breed and Alan Hajjar to bring us Confession, the latest Hollywood lounge in a historic building. Confession is located behind the Pig ’n Whistle, and has a fittingly cathedral feel boasting various craft cocktails and a decadent food menu. The private opening on Monday welcomed an eclectic crowd of Instagram “celebs” and an older Hollywood crowd. The only thing missing from the event was a Bravo film crew, for it felt like an episode out of Real Housewives.

I’ve noticed a shift in LA nightlife recently as millennials, including myself, prefer to lounge rather than party belligerently in nightclubs. Confession definitely fits the bill of what you’d want for a night out. However, the quaint lounge was overcrowded and understaffed with only two bartenders mixing up some delicious cocktails. While Confession is meant to be ultra exclusive, it felt like it was near impossible to grab a drink. The turnout of Monday’s private event was more than the bartenders anticipated since each cocktail is carefully crafted, yet with the right amount of hands on deck, Confession will be the place to be. The prosciutto wrapped dates were washed down nicely with the spicy jalapeño margarita concoction. Confession has all the potential to be the next Hollywood hotspot.

Confession will be opening its doors this Friday, June 5th.
