Hip brand BB Dakota celebrated the launch of their Making Space series created by darling visual artist Petra Collins at MAMA Gallery on May 14th, 2015. Making Space tracks Petra and sister Anna Collins travels from New Orleans to Death Valley capturing youthfulness. The three part docu-series focuses on dance as a vehicle for developing self-esteem and personal identity. Like Petra’s film, the party celebrated youth and female camaraderie decked out with light-up cotton candy, pizza, Polaroid cameras, rainbows and unicorn stickers that transported guests to a happy place better known as our adolescence. LA-based band Cherry Glazer even threw in some rock’n’roll into the mix for a kick ass performance. “Glamour is looking exquisite and not giving a fuck” according to BB Dakota, and that’s what being young is all about.
