Amy Brenneman, Scott Eastwood, Among Others Attended the Opening of “Brain Change” by Steven Janssen at De Re Gallery

In a one night solo exhibition, De Re Gallery debuted Steven Janssen’s “Brain Change” on November 17. In one of art’s most prominent galleries, this opening was the most desired event of the night. Celebrity guests and art collectors attended, including Amy Brenneman, Scott Eastwood, Helen Hunt, Frank Grillo, Mary McCormack. The opening reception will offer specialty cocktails featuring ultra-premium Roxx Vodka, and premium quality wine from Seebass Vineyards & Family Wines boutique vineyards. As a native Angelino who has been painting for the majority of his life, Janssen will exhibit a brand new body of work intended to transport the viewer to another space in time, past, present and future.

While Janssen primarily paints in a signature style of organic form and humanistic qualities, with a hint of eroticism, Brain Change reflects a complete change of thought process and approach to his work. By adding and removing layer after layer of color, Janssen produces a vivid world of ethereal escape in his paintings. The compositions transform throughout the changing light of day, revealing hues and imagery one may not have seen before.

After showcasing his work at numerous gallery exhibits around the United States, Janssen opened his own gallery in downtown Palm Springs in 2006. The gallery, JANSSEARTSPACE, enjoyed some of the most innovative exhibits in the desert and featured work from Southern California’s most talented artists. Janssen then went on to open an art studio in the heart of downtown Los Angeles to inspire a new vision for his work. Janssen’s work has been featured in high-profile publications, such as Architectural Digest and House Beautiful, as well as collected by Jennifer Aniston, Chelsea Handler, Lucy Liu, Kevin Huvane, Chris Huvane, Kevin Mazur, Brian Bowen Smith and Michael Weiss to name a few.

Brain Change will be on display exclusively at De Re Gallery on November 17th in Los Angeles: 8920 Melrose Ave in the West Hollywood Design district. Preview catalogs are available upon request. For more information on De Re Gallery, Click HERE.
