All of the Information That You Need for LA Pride 2015 from Matt Palazzolo of Christopher Street West

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Matt Palazzolo and I serve on the Board of Directors for Christopher Street West, the non-profit that organizes LA Pride annually. You can find all the information you need about LA Pride at lapride.org. In addition to my work with Christopher Street West and LA Pride, I’m an actor and filmmaker and just completed directing an AT&T commercial celebrating pride month that can be found at att.com/liveproud.

How did you get involved in LA Pride?

I initially got involved with LA Pride because of the sense of community and celebration it brings. So many people I crossed paths with were passionate about volunteering their time to the event for a variety of reasons: because it gives TLGB youth a weekend to openly and safely celebrate themselves, because LA Pride’s programs shares the inspiring history of our community… and you know, great music. I began as a volunteer several years ago and joined the board of directors two years ago.

What artists are you most looking forward to perform?

Throwing my arms around my best friends and dancing to Kesha — that’s the goal of Saturday night. Also, Wilson Phillips will always be a must-see act.

How many people are expected to show up for the weekend’s festivities?

LA Pride draws a huge crowd to the city of West Hollywood and it grows every single year. I wouldn’t be surprised if we hit the 1 million mark in the next year or two. It’s such a rainbow of people, every person has a place to stand tall and dance low on LA Pride weekend.

What blocks is the LA Pride Parade going to take place on?

Starting at 11am, Sunday’s LA Pride parade will stretch from Crescent Heights to San Vicente all along Santa Monica Blvd. If you can’t be there in person, check out the broadcast at lapride.org starting at 10:30am. The entry to the festival is at the corner of San Vicente and Santa Monica Blvd and the festivities begin Friday night. Come on down!
