Sourcing Los Angeles Culture

Our 7 Favorite LA Events: The Week Of August 7th-13th featuring Sundance Next Fest and Much More!

Hey, we get it – Los Angeles is a big city. Not only are there endless opportunities for coffee stops, beach visits, and celebrity sightings, but the metropolis also boasts an absolutely massive catalogue of events. Even on a daily basis, the list of things to do can certainly seem a little overwhelming at times.

Somewhere, among the hazy smog that engulfs the city, lies a hotbed of culture and entertainment – you just have to sift through the haze to find what’s best. That’s why we over at LA Guestlist have done the work for you and put together the seven hottest, freshest, and most Los Angeles events we could find for you in the week of August 7th – August 13th. Something for you each and every night.

We’ll try not to break your wallet, either.

BONUS

We just wanted to give a little extra love over to our friends at the Sundance Institute, as they have put together a very special weekend of programming with their Next Fest. If you’re unable to make it out to their flagship festival in January over in Utah, if you’re just looking for what’s “next” in the film industry, or even if you’re just looking for a good time this weekend, this is definitely what to look out for. Featuring live musical acts paired with screenings including Sleigh BellsElectric Guest, and much more, the folks over at the Sundance Institute boasts one of the best and most unique film festivals LA has to offer. Catch a live talk, stop by their Next Door lounge (featuring VR, wine tastings, carnival games, and more), or see some of the best in upcoming, independent cinema! Attendees can access with their tickets before or after screenings to mingle and enjoy drinks from Hochstadter’s, Stella Artois and wineries from the Santa Ynez Valley, samples from Califia Farms, experience an Acura NSX Virtual Reality test drive, participate in games from Allbirds and get your questions answered at the Los Angeles Times Ask a Reporter booth.

You can explore the lineup, as well as purchase tickets (still available!) here.
