Sourcing Los Angeles Culture

Our 7 Favorite LA Events: The Week Of August 14th-20th featuring Think Tank Gallery, The Odd Market and Much More!

Hey, we get it – Los Angeles is a big city. Not only are there endless opportunities for coffee stops, beach visits, and celebrity sightings, but the metropolis also boasts an absolutely massive catalogue of events. Even on a daily basis, the list of things to do can certainly seem a little overwhelming at times.

Somewhere, among the hazy smog that engulfs the city, lies a hotbed of culture and entertainment – you just have to sift through the haze to find what’s best. That’s why we over at LA Guestlist have done the work for you and put together the seven hottest, freshest, and most Los Angeles events we could find for you in the week of August 14th – August 20th. Something for you each and every night.

We’ll try not to break your wallet, either.

  • School Night LA – Jessica Childress

School Night LA is one of the best curated recurring concert programs available in Los Angeles, returning to Bardot in Hollywood each Monday for a different show! This week, celebrating the release of her new single “Starting Today,” Jessica Childress will be gracing the stage with a full band show! The show is free for those 21+ and up that RSVP Here.

  • Breaker/Broken (Stories of the Heart)

Come to one of the most heartbreaking, funniest, honest, and open shows you’ll see all year at the Museum of Broken Relationships. Each month, a selection of actors/comedians/humans sound off on the topic of heartbreak, all the way “from written essays about the loss of a life-long pet to the off-the-cuff raw emotion about a breakup that happened yesterday.” Whatever happens, it’ll be a special night.

Tickets available Here.

  • Electric Desert Nights w/ Overjoy + Sophie Strauss

Sometimes, you just want to go out and see some live music. No crazy themes, no special hidden entryways, just experience this “huge Los Angeles music scene” everybody’s always talkin’ about. Well this is just that – doors open at 7 with a DJ until 8, with Sophie Strauss playing a set at 8PM, and Overjoy taking over the stage at 9. No cover charge, just a good, old fashioned gig.
